Lovely and warm cafe with amazing service and delicious food! I absolutely loved their signature Persian Fog which had their special saffron syrup which balanced well with the black tea and pistachio on top! Their combo breakfast was such a filling and delicious way to start my day and their bread with the carrot jam was amazing! I highly recommend checking them out and I would come back!

Cafe aunja offers a very delicate and elegant Persian-inspired environment. It's a perfect place for afternoon tea. I tried their specialty tea - Persian Fragrance. An amazing combination of different flowers, a bit sourness from the lime, and a bit sweetness from honey. Highly recommended!

My first time in Montreal didn’t go exactly as planned—my girlfriend (she’s from Toronto) and I (from Vermont) were hoping to spend most of our time exploring Old Montreal, but the weather had other ideas. So we pivoted, looking for a cozy cafe where we could stay warm, write, and enjoy good food, and that’s how we found Cafe Aunja. From the moment we walked in, it felt like something special. Our visit ended up being so memorable and romantic that we now think of it as “our” place. The seating is abundant, and while the lighting leans dim, it’s adjustable, which makes it ideal whether you’re writing, chatting, or just people-watching with a cup in hand. The staff are warm and extremely welcoming, and as someone who’s been a barista for 15 years, I can honestly say the drinks and food were made with real care. You can taste the pride in every detail—from presentation to flavor. Cafe Aunja has Iranian roots, and it was my first time trying items like the Kereshmeh and Nargoun smoothies, both of which were bright, fruity, and refreshing. I also had a slice of their blueberry cake, which looked beautiful and tasted even better. On the more traditional side, I tried their moka latte, while my girlfriend went for their floral and herb-packed teas, which were as pretty as they were flavorful. We ended up coming back two more times during our trip to write and relax, and I actually started my next novel there. She left equally inspired. Even if we stay in a different part of the city next time, we’ve already agreed: we’re coming back to Cafe Aunja. It’s not just a cafe—it’s a creative sanctuary, a cozy escape from the weather, and now, a cherished part of our story.

We ordered a pot of Rose tea & cappuccino, and both were flavourful and satisfying. The Petit Dejeuner combo breakfast and Omelette de Montagne were perfect for the cold winter morning. In particular, the saffron infused confit was a perfect accompaniment to the lightly toasted iranian bread, walnuts, cheese, peanut butter and olives. These outshone the perfectly done eggs. Our taste buds were left zinging for many hours after this fabulous experience! The rich Iranian decor is noticeable & yet subtle. Very highly recommended.

I am in love with their sandwiches. I tried their vegetable sandwich and it contains pesto sauce which is so delicious. Also, their milkshake and persian fog which has a unique saffron and pistachio flavour and I would definitely recommend to try it.
